Maryland-Based Wealth Management Team Joins Stifel Independent Advisors

ST. LOUIS, October 10, 2022 – Stifel Financial Corp. (NYSE: SF) today announced that its independent contractor broker-dealer subsidiary, Stifel Independent Advisors, LLC, has welcomed a new wealth management team in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Operating as Axió Capital Advisors, the team consists of Jay Beynon, CFP®, Financial Advisor; Matthew Lesko, Financial Advisor; and Barbara Walters, Operations Manager.  They join Stifel Independent Advisors from RBC Capital Markets, where they were responsible for $170 million in client assets.

“After exploring seemingly every possible option, we’re thrilled to be going independent at a firm where wealth management comes first,” said Mr. Beynon.  “Stifel Independent Advisors gives us the clarity and transparency we need to deliver the outstanding service our clients deserve.  Here we’ll benefit from having more control over both the client experience and our own brand, as well as the opportunity to grow our practice by recruiting like-minded financial advisors.”

“We are very excited to partner with Jay and his team at Axió Capital Advisors to help build a strong and growing independent business with their flagship office in Maryland,” said Ted Desautels, Director, Regional Recruiting.  “They’ve built an incredibly successful practice, and we look forward to continuing that success with their bespoke business model.”

The Axió Capital Advisors team is the seventh to join Stifel Independent Advisors since the start of the year.
